Use outline numbering and a macro that I wrote (outlineCrossRef3) to make it easier to cross reference to the outline numbers
or 2. Use variables for the numbering and cross reference to them. My macros are available from: http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/hillview/OOo/ and web space for collaborative work: http://ext.openoffice.org.nz/doku.php?id=collaboration:references A document about cross referencing in OpenOffice.org: http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/15655/CrossReferencesRoughDraft2.sxw This is an area that I have an interest in and I would be happy to work directly with you to find an optimal solution for legal work. There was supposed to be a change for 2.0 but I haven't seen it or heard reference to it for some time. Thanks, Ian
