I looked into the whole quiet cooling fairly deeply. The water cooling kits for ~$150 look good, but they all use a 120 mm fan and radiator. The case I have only has a mount for 80 mm fans. Both kits are rated as "really good value" and "95% as good as spending three times as much" One had a single waterblock, the other had three waterblocks for the GPU and the northbridge as well.
I ended up getting an Arctic Cooler Freezer for $60. Its not silent, but its way better than the intel stock HSF. -----Original Message----- From: Robert Fisher [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, 23 August 2005 1:26 p.m. To: [email protected] Subject: Re: OT: Cooling Craig FALCONER wrote: > Has anyone here had experience with water cooling of a PC? My son Simon had a water cooled machine for quite a while. I think the stuff is for sale now though as he has a new more portable case to go to his LAN sessions (he was in Wellington this pat weekend with it).
