I installed another cd drive and still the same thing. I then took the cable from my hd with the mandrake install and connected it to the second hd, which I have never used, so I was guessing it was empty.
Then I inserted a boot disk (floppy) for mandrake 10, this then comes up with a pop up box and an error "no cdrom device found" Hit "Enter" and it then says "Please insert the additional drivers floppy" I'm beginning to think there is something real strange going on, I installed Apache, php, and MySql when I did the initial install, Apache and php are there, but no mysql or cd drive. About the only thing I can think of is that I had winXP installed previously and it was using the drivers from there, I dont see how that would add up, but what else is there. >From this point I am open to any/all suggestions. This is only an old P3 box, so its not really worth much, but I dont really want to give it the biff either. Its my "learn linux" box, before I move on to killing my server and firewall, and it was eventually going to be my mail server. Its 5am so I'm going to bed. Regards Kelvyn.
