There is nothing whatsoever wrong with the socket, I used it last night, it 
just needs connecting to the LAN, or ADSL router. The former is the preferred 
solution, because the latter requires us to remember to re-instate the 
connection to the LAN.

We just need 10m of CAT5 to go from the switch under the bench in the computer 
room to the computer-room side hole in the wall socket.

We can get access to the hall complex most Saturday afternoons at 3:00pm.
