I can tell you. /me checks age -- oops, 32. You weren't talking to me :) Anyway, I learned about gerunds and other forms in Latin, not in English. I'm such a language geek, last time I was introduced to a girl called Amanda I replied "Oh, as in the gerundive of the latin verb amare?" Actually, that *is* where the name comes from.
