The printer in question is running on a network in small office situation. It is working very well under windows and as a stand alone fax machine and copier.[1]
The reason I was attempting to get the PPD from the Apple driver was that I never found the Linux support pages on the web site, saw that the Apple drivers used Cups and assumed that it would be trivial to extract the PPD from the Apple install file. Now that the PPD and sane drivers have been located I will be able to communicate with the printer from Linux. Cheers Ross Drummond [1] Tools are provided to use the fax and scan functions remotely from a windows PC. I have not set them up yet.
