Novell *is* determined to bring Linux to the desktop. This came in this morning:
>> Pay No Shipping for SUSE Linux 10 - Limited Time Offer! Heads Up: SUSE Linux 10.0 begins shipping on 30 September 2005. For just $59.95 (a 44% reduction in MSRP from the previous version of SUSE Linux) you can have everything you need for home computing and computing-on-the-go. Place your order today, and be one of the first to get your hands on the new SUSE Linux 10.0. Order before 1 October, and we'll pay for the shipping. http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/d3.php?s=feature.16017.nld.txt Hard to believe, but I checked and the offer is no-shipping worldwide. Damn good price. The downloadable free version only contains free open source software with "non-free" stuff being loadable from elsewhere - like any other distro. Personally I'll stay with the box thanks all the same, I prefer a complete Linux system. It was also announced this morning that 10.0 is frozen and has entered final internal testing and production.
