It is my intention to use slackware to run the sat dish, but have not yet done so (maybe Christmas I'll have time), so you can sort out the problems and then you can help me ;)
My main use for slackware now is a file server with pioneer 6 disk cd changers (8 of) which hold my mp3 files.
