Is it a PostScript printer Zane? If not you might have trouble getting a

The printer definitely is capable of postscript.
But it is connected via a print server on an SMB network and there is no
chance of me connecting it to my printer port.
(it is the size of a fridge and a few rooms away)
Print a config sheet to find out. Phnoe me if you would like me to talk
you through it.
Thanks for the offer, but in the way that these things usually happen
just after asking the list I thought of another route I can take with
investigating the membership my machine has in the domain that the
printer server is in.
Which after getting over my spot of brain deadness
and some Googling am finally reminded that the command with the new
version of Samba is
net rpc join -U [administrator]%[password].
Which, funnily enough, is pretty close to how you do it on a dozebox.
Will be trying it at work tomorrow.

Zane
