Actually, I spoke too soon. 

It seems the guy I was speaking to at ASB doesn't know what he's talking
about. 

I jumped on a windows computer using Firefox and was able to log into my
account just fine.  

So I tried deleting the 116 cookies (!!) from asbbank.co.nz and suddenly
I can log in again. 

We'll see if it happens again or if it was a rogue cookie of some kind
causing problems.
