The whole point of the exercise is to produce something that has the aesthetic appeal of a properly typeset page. This is the reason for wanting to use some thing like LaTeX. imho & wadr, neither HTML nor the o/p from most W/P packages produce that somewhat undefined 'something' which makes the difference between a run-of-the-mill printout, and a work of typographic art. I'm hoping to use [La]TeX to produce the latter.
