Yes, in that case anything works. Both the behaviour you describe and the one I described are needed. I'm not too fussed what keys they go to, the shortcut editor will fix that. Have a look at kghostview's PgUp/Down and space/shiftspace (with page height too large for screen), that's perfect, though please exchange the two keysets (I did for me, to make it the same as gv). Also the continual scroll you describe is probably more frequently used, and the same as more/less, so that wants to be on the space key. kpdf's space is an abberration, it's possible it was meant to work the same as in kghostview, but it's buggy and doesn't. > > 11) Really nifty would be a fit-to-bounding-box-height (and width)! Absolutely. Both are needed. The fit to bounding box while working on text, the fit to page while working on final layout. In gv I have both... > You removed my mention of doing the extra functions as plugins. I concentrated on functionality form a user's point, and left implementation details. Yes run-time efficiency is not off the list, although in KDE it seems pretty far down. Gee, nedit with all its motif ballast cranks up like lightning, while all the KDE guff (kate/kay/kedit/whatever) goes like jelly. > 14) Read the page aloud for my vision impaired friend. 15) Operate kpdf from a microphone. Hey, why stop there - why not OO, my latex editor, and all other apps too? It has been argued that Linux, or more to the point, X11, has a superb chance of getting voice input functions put into it. Pity it's missing that chance about now... Volker -- Volker Kuhlmann is possibly list0570 with the domain in header http://volker.dnsalias.net/ Please do not CC list postings to me.
