automatically are distro-specific - so yes distro is an issue unless you
are building your own set of control scripts.
And I can tell Don this too, without fear of contradiction. Serious
networking builds upon Debian.
The sooner adjustment is made to this reality, the quicker the
fine-tuning support is likely to flow.
