Yes, esp reading between the lines: Debian stable didn't have a reliable backporting of security fixes into the released+stable+current product, apart from being very badly organised. With unstable/bleeding edge being not really suitable for real deployment, does that leave anything Debian to recommend? As long as there are plenty of distros around, and I expect there always will be, the demise of any one hardly matters in the big picture.
