Only if you're totally besotted by the sugar-coated video baubles and 
bling. Strikes me that the Xgl stuff is really just only that.

fwiw, the Kororaa demo works well on an AMD-2600+ Barton core Athlon, with 
an nvidia video card, and failed completely on a 1.8GHz P-4m with an ati 
card. ( machine re-booted itself continually )

fwiw2, I'm told that the installer conveniently forgets to set up 
the /boot/grub directory. It is however a possibility that the installer 
himself forgot some detail in the install process. It was, after all, a 
first-time attempt with this particular installer for him.
