May I draw everyone's attention to a SUSE 10.0 DVD which claims to
contain a "full" set of packages but misses essentials like a compiler,
and it's doing the rounds:

> A give away at the CLUG meeting a couple of weeks ago.

> Of course not. But when I have a DVD that says "Full Suse 32 bit
> version" it's fair to believe that this is what I already have!

Absolutely!

A possible source of this limited-use DVD is LinuxMagazine, which also
describes how to download the missing packages:

http://www.linux-magazine.com/Readers/Forum/00000531?expand_all=1

Packages can also be accessed by entering

ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source/

as installation source in yast.

If you have one of these DVDs or make more of them, please label them
clearly with "misses essential packages" to avoid more confusion, and
scribble above URL on it.

It is possible to make full DVDs for x86 and AMD64, just - they're both
choker, and I've done so in the past.
