I have a friend who is taking the plunge to try Linux.

I helped him install Kanotix to a spare drive in his main computer yesterday
and the only 2 problems were

1/ that his USB wireless device was not automatically set up and made
available (we used an ethernet cable to get him going)

2/ he has 2 sound cards, 1 faulty on-board, but no sound

I am sure that with some more time we could get around both problems.

He also has another computer which will ultimately become his server but for
now could be used as another test machine.

Can anyone in the north-east quadrant of Christchurch supply me with the
latest Ubuntu disks.

Obviously, once I have him convinced that Linux is a viable OS for him I will
convert him to Gentoo but for now simple installations and good hardware
detection will help the brainwashing.
