3.4.something does certainly not. > > Firefox displays the page correctly, but on A4 cuts off the right side. > No, it's not "Shity Yank software". > ( I'm no shill for them, but let's be fair ) Yes, let's be fair: each time you start firefox for the first time, it defaults to printing on "letter". Each time you use a printer for the first time, it's set to "letter". Each time you press ^P, it's set to the printer you don't want to use. It does indeed remember the last used paper size after you've selected the printer. I have however ended up with "letter" postscript so often, I have no confidence in firefox unless I check *each time* that the paper is correctly selected. KDE works out by itself that it's running in "New Zealand" and all I have to do is nothing. No feature for print scaling in FF, but that's a different issue. Konqueror doesn't have one either. > Actually, on this one occasion, it's a lazy European, besotted by a > particular binary distribution, who can't update his software. For someone like you it should be clear that replacing software nillywilly on your computer is typically a bad idea, and advantages to be gained by doing so are traded for disadvantages elsewhere, i.e. something breaks somewhere else. And while you're at dumba*** comments, my Linux at least boots with a USB gimmick plugged in - yours was last week found not to. > Konqueror-3.5.2 Yes, but not practical. > $ cal 2006 True :) Goes to show that the browser situation still leaves a lot of things to be desired. Whether this is Linux-specific shall remain open at this point... Volker -- Volker Kuhlmann is list0570 with the domain in header http://volker.dnsalias.net/ Please do not CC list postings to me.
