Assuming the "stand alone box" is running a standard Linux, issue the 
command:-
 
wget \ 
http://superb-west.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/ipcop/ipcop-install-1.4.10.i386.iso

This will download the file and save it to the current working directory.
It's about 41 megs.

Now, burn a CD - possibly using K3B - It's an .iso image file, which should 
be recorded direct to the CD. It should not be placed in a filesystem.

No, Just put the new CD in the drive and boot the computer. Then just do as 
it, and the ipcop web site, tells you.
