Hmm. Could be something wrong with line 44 in /etc/apt/sources.list Have you looked at the file? Open it up in your favourite editor[1] and take a look. The format of that line will be very similar to the others, and it might be easy for you to spot why it is different and then fix it. For example, it could be that the line has been split, so you need to join it to the previous one. It is likely that you cannot save the file unless you are root, or unless you have used the sudo command to invoke your editor.
