If your household is even vaguely geeky then a dedicated firewall box is the way to go. Doesn't have to be very big at all, but it does have to be on 24/7

Eth1 i set up as 192.168.0.1 and cant find any tools to set up a DHCP server, or to pass traffic through my machine between the internet and the LAN.
