There used to be a Scots female voice which was quite pleasant, but unfortunately she seems to have disappeared and been replaced by this American female, with - to my ear - a less pleasant intonation. It's definitely worth fiddling about with the voices and choosing the one you feel the most comfortable with. -- CS
