OK about a week ago, seemingly without warning my MBR/partition tables did a runner. I have no idea what happened or why, it appeared as though the partition boundaries had gotten confused, I don't know, at any rate I just wiped the hard drive (there wasn't anything overly important on it) and reinstalled (debian). Now my issues really start. The system will just randomly hang[1], although it seems to happen more often when running dpkg --configure, which I'm sure you can imagine is a real hassle. fsck can detect no problems on the partitions in question.
Would appreciate any and all advice on the matter!

[1] When I say hang I mean the whole system comes down, not just a ctrl+c fixable problem.
