I can't say I've been dropped a lot, though I wouldn't usually notice unless it breaks an established tcp connection. Most net refusals I get are from the periodic email download, and there it's usually Paradise's email server timing out on authentication or whatnot, probably because of overload or because they're fiddling with it. I did however twice have lockups where the internet connection would not reestablish. Calling faults, it turned out in both cases that the surfboard had locked up and could only be fixed by hard-powercycling. It's not in a hot place and produces little heat anyway. Last time they suggested power cycling the surfboard daily is normal, but I told them what I thought of that idea. It's been fine again for months, so it could have been a power brownout - can't blame any hardware for suiciding itself on that. What I'd suggest is that you try to locate the device causing the problem, by power cycling. It doesn't look like it's the ISP.
