I recently set up a client who has a large printer but no computers. They 
have "contractors" who can print over the internet from remote locations 
using ipp and Windows.

I could not get it to work from Mac OS X though and the conclusion I came to 
was that OS X uses CUPS and the printer probably does not even though it uses 
the same port (631). Maybe the same problem applies from Linux.

My work around was to port forward 515 and use LPR printing from the Mac so 
that could also work from Linux.
