In the telco sector they have ways of making people do what they want,
they use confusion, they over whelm people until they just give up and
stay with the incumbent.
Funniest thing I've seen this weekend...
I just finished installing Mepis on my HP. I resized the U6 pat I had
and installed it. The installer asked me if I wanted to use GRUB...
It then completely ignored the U6 installation and only set it self up
with 2 version of XP and itself....
Hummm.... ROFL!
No one is forcing you to use Linux etc.
5 years ago it felt a bit that way.... people in the linux community
would take pride in abusing me for not knowing about their software.
They would laugh while I paid thousands of dollars for Microsoft software.
But today you're right.... no one is forcing me at all... and infact
it's been years sense I heard anyone get up set about pirating a copy of
anything MS.
Now I've got people demanding that I am removed from this list, when all
I'm trying to do is learn and get stuff to work.
If you want to learn and get stuff to work, insulting and annoying the
local community is probably not the best way to go about it.
I agree.
If the local community want to grow their numbers then insulting and
annoying those who know less than they do probably isn't the best way to
go about it... or perhaps I just missed the point... CLUG don't want to
grow their numbers, they just want 'to be'.
Please don't be so defensive, please try not to talk down to people,
please try to calm down and think if what you are writing is on topic,
and most of all, please don't flood the list with endless (mostly OT)
messages.
What... be different from most of the people who have posted this weekend?
Why don't you direct your comments at the rest of the community...
perhaps those who told me to SHUT UP, FUCK OFF, rather than just leave
the topic.
