With Open Office, are there seperat versions for Windows and Linux, I know it will run in both, but just need to know if
I need to dowload another copy for use in Linux.

Yes. OpenOffice.org has been produced to run in separate versions for Windows and Linux. So yes you will need to have another binary to run under Linux. However you will find that all the Linux distributions have it as part of their offerings on the CD/DVD.
Thanks for all the help so far

Hi Alan,

Just a tip for Oo as you are running it under windows and (hopefully soon) Linux.... If you create a separate dos/win formatted partition to hold your data files, these files can be readily accessed from both platforms. Then if you create a file under linux and need to return to windows the file is still readily accessible. Just watch the you use the same file format under both systems.
