No I do not think so. Mepis was installed at Allan's and he has not been
connected other than for a short time with Andrew's external modem.

You know 'emerge ltmodem' looks enormously attractive after this 14 day / 5
dozen message schemozzle. :-)
You still cannot "emerge" new packages without an Internet connection
unless you have it on a packages CD.
