I only put it there in case you weren't > in your home directory. > > By the way if you want to go to your home directory, the cd command on > its own without anything else on the line takes you there. > > > Thats fine Nick maybe I need a new pair of glasses LOL actually I just went straight into the konsole and when it wouldnt change directory I changed over to Root to try it and of course it didnt work again, but I did the removal then from within the root....at least it worked and offending desktop installation now removed. Incidentally I tried the ~ for my own satisfaction and changed directory straight away ....thanks..... hopefully my rememberer will work next time I need to do similar.
