After drinking Guinness, do not come home and turn the computer on

I just spent an hour trying different monitors, graphics cards, LiveCD's.
memtest and hard drives until I remembered the card reader was plugged in.
Wife has gone to bed in disgust and it is our wedding anniversary today.
