Even more mechanically unstable and electrically unsafe. Your kids will love it though because they can stick their little fingers right onto the mains contacts. (Don't they call this "evolution" in science?) > then the power adapter will accept 240v If it is an electronic switch-mode type (the gumstix one is) then yes, they all accept 110-240V. If it's a transformer type, you'll get more than twice the voltage into your cute gadget and probably also overheat the transformer.
