I've had problems with orcon's mail systems before, I don't use it and just don't worry about anyone who can't get mail because they're using sorbs

Can anyone

ping mail.orcon.net.nz

at the moment?

We have just installed a new modem and a new IPCop box but I am not
having any other problems.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~> ping -c3 mail.orcon.net.nz
PING mail.orcon.net.nz (219.88.242.10) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from mail.orcon.net.nz (219.88.242.10): icmp_seq=1 ttl=59
time=195 ms

Weird.

I can ping smtp.orcon.net.nz so I changed my kmail settings to use that and now my mail is geting out.

I wonder what I need to do to once again be able to use mail.orcon.net.nz. I guess it must be something in the new modem or IPCop box but I do not know what.

Rob

Obvious question
I assume you have the appropriate ports forwarding through your "new IPCop" box ?
