FWIW, I'm intending to have a bit of fun with winelib and MechCommander 2. The License Microsoft has slapped on it, appears to tolerate such an experiment, and besides, it would make sense - Microsoft - or some parts of it - are trying to reach out to the F/LOSS community. They may as well be take at their word. And we may as well have some fun while we're at it. ;) > > > Wesley Parish > > > > On Sun, 08 Oct 2006 22:15, Wesley Parish wrote: > >> Hi, Steve > >> > >> Yep, free as in speech, according to the license (hard to believe! :), > >> but it's apparently true: > >> > >> Game Name: MechCommander 2 > >> Developer: Microsoft > >> License: Microsoft Research Shared Source License > >> Game Publish Date: 2001-03-19 > >> Game Liberated Date: 2006-03-19 > >> Game Type: Real-time Strategy Game > >> Game Release Type: Source Code/Full Assets > >> http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6d790cde-c3e5-4 > >>6be -b3a5-729581269a9c&DisplayLang=en or > >> http://www.3ddownloads.com/Strategy/MechCommander 2/Tools/MC2_source.exe > >> > >> Any chance of getting a copy? > >> > >> Thanks > >> > >> Wesley > >> > >> PS: > >> Shared Source Limited Permissive License for use of MechCommander® 2 > >> > >> This license governs use of the accompanying software.
