Sounds like a plan Steve, where and how much for your 'usb thingy?' :) Will it 'plug and play'? I'm using KUbuntu 6.06 LTS.

Personaly I'd like to run a cable, but I don't have that option.

I don't really like thinking of sitting in totally unnecessary radio waves all day.

suggests having to use an ndis wrapper approach, which is never good. Also if 
you're playing with edgy eft, I read that ndiswrapper is broken - whether 
intentionally or not, I'm not sure! I've got an usb thingy ( well two actually, 
one only 802.11b ) which'll work if you're interested. Both are aetheros.
