Hi,
we have had this discussion before about top posting/bottom posting.

Craig's comment (below) is on the lines of "get over it", but does not
provide a sane way forward to establishing a reasonable etiquette for
posting.

It has been argued that top posting is a microsoftish thing - because
microsoft mail apps open the email at the top, which is the bit you read
first...

Trimming trimming has been requested. This was very important when
everyone had 9k6 (or slower) modems. One would have thought that length is
not a problem now. However, people do read their email over cell phones
(read dollars per each byte) and that generates requests for trimming.

Others hate trimming, cause what is readable to one person is
unreadable/meaningless to the next.

Some plead for wise and sane trimming.. Others say the only sane form of
trimming is to do nothing.

I think you could describe it as the corporate model, where you add your
comments to the head of the email, and leave the rest untouched. Thus each
letter is a complete track of the entire conversation. Which is ideal for
the person who joins a conversation midway through.

I say, pah - get real. Given the volume of emails on this topic over the
years, it is clear there is never going to be a consensus. Each proponent
of each view has some very well worded arguements that support their view.

Let us put our endeavours into more productive things, like writing code,
writing documetnation and howtos, helping newbies, reporting bugs, and
perhaps even making money....
