ruby rant... last week it was 'Perl is your friend'... :)
Actually Chris, I got a book out on Ruby last week and found it wasn't
the right book (Ruby on Rails), and I got a book out on Perl as well.
Let's get a reality check here for a second...
Most of the *nix language use the same conventions.
ASP, VB, MS Access, VBA, etc all use the conventions as well...
My real problem is that I just haven't learnt the conventions for Linux
yet...
I'm sure you'll agree that I'm making progress (even if slowly).
I was very pleased with my self last week when giving a LES lesson on
BASH at just how much I've learnt.
I suspect that once I've got scripting and php under my belt the rest
will come much easier... (let's hope so! you lot will go nuts from my
endless posts if I don't :)
*IPACC
I looked at that years ago and couldn't make head or tail.
I think I've got most of the accounting cracked now... it's just
delivering a UI that I like, which as you can see is getting closer. :)
Cheers Don
