Greetings Listers,

'Pologies for the OT Q, but I'm pretty sure somebody here will know the
answer.

I have a friend who has a eMac which is about 4 or 5 years old currently
running Mac-OS 9. She wishes to connect it to a Wireless net which is running
in her house. For simplicity I suggested that she consider something like a
Netgear 54Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter WG111 which is available from DSE.
See:-

The price seems pretty attractive.

  So, here are the Qs.

Can she do that with Mac-OS9?
If not, can this age of machine run a USB-Wireless thingie under Mac-OS X?

Alternatively how well do the various 'Buntu incarnations run on this age
hardware? We only want an Office, e-mail and a bit of WWW browsing.

Will this Wireless Adaptor, or any other, run on a PPC machine of the above
age running Linux, or *BSD?

  Thanks a million.
