Hi Neil,

*nix/Net is a 'pull technology' of quality - so that everyone capable

this is interesting although the LES students and many people who have
posted saying CLUG was their route into unix provide counterexamples.
The LES are being intro'd & it will be useful to know adoption rates,
scholastic ability, material inputs, ...
But linux-usersATcanterbury and 'CLUG' (separate) are where learners go
for their support - _after_ they've been intro'd - people said.
In other words the 'pull' gets initialised anywhere, and the list+lug
become the first *nix homes (local friends).
but this is the dirty secret isn't it? in order to use unix at all
unless it is administered for you, one needs to be interested enough to
want to learn about it, which few people are.
True. Many find it deterring, on sight, and leave. More organised
support is what glu is testing, as a retainment solution.
Are you back in Chch again Neil?
Good news.
Cheers
