Hi, I will express my freedom to top post, and delete most of the letter I am replying to.
My view on reading the current spat of emails on clug observations was that Rik was unfairly maligned in public. Maybe he did step "sligthly" out of line. But, if you talked to someone else, you will find that their view is that Rik didn't. Either way, no reason to publically malign Rik. Now here are my thoughts:::: Good job guys - wasting all this time on personality wars, and not on developing linux. I have always appreciated CLUG as it is a place to meet Linux people outside of my immediate circle of voip/linux contacts. Clug is a place to hear views on topics that are completely different to mine. If you remember the recent debate on threads vs processes - Invaluable. I have always appreciated Clug for being a place to meet people who have experience in totally different area of linux - who know about web pages (thanks Steve for your talk on this) and security etc etc.. Good job. yes, we will get some dud posts on this list. Which is no reason for sending more dud posts. Derek.
