You can install FreePBX (the GUI from [EMAIL PROTECTED]/Trixbox) onto your 
server, I believe 
the main thing is that your configs need to be writable by the www-data user.

FreePBX, which you are already familiar with. There is one called Destar from 
memory. Also, as Ben mentioned, Asterisk 1.4 has a new GUI framework which 
you can use, Digium's new distro (called AsteriskNOW) is based on it but you 
can also install it on your own installation.
