Eventually it will become to expensive for the NZ Government to hire MS
developers in the face of good OSS developers.
The Government is making strong moves in a number of different ways.
Check out what projects the Open Polytech are running at present.
You can go look that stuff up for your self... because I'm going back
to writing my second application in PHP. In the past I would have
written it in ASP.
