as I am running on a headless box, and often from remote locations,
azureus wasn't an option. Now do I like it much, its a resource hog at
times.

azureus does have a command line interface, but I think you have to
install the gui, and all its dependencies like X etc to get it installed,
even to use the command line interface.

rtorrent has a nice curses interface. The controls are a little obscure,
but that means you get some nice surprises when you read the
documentation.
