I thought that would be the case. Same thing happened to my Gentoo on Reiser. That's why I asked Volker a while back how (easy it was) to go about fixing 'bad superblocks' etc. His extensive answer is in the archives, for future reference - sounded like a 'can do'. But I've stuck with ext3 since that experience.
I couldn't even get anything with "fsck --help".
