I had real trouble with this upgrade. Luckily I was testing it on a virtual machine before doing it on the live version.
The trouble was the /boot partition. For some reason this partition is really small 8 or 10 Mb. (IPCop chooses the partition sizes, so it creates this problem.) Anyway, it ran out of space during the upgrade. I got it to work (after re-creating the VM twice!) by deleting some of the unused files so there was enough room for the new ones.
