Actually, you should use solid core for fixed wiring.  If you use flexible 
cable for fixed wiring you cannot punch it down into the IDC assembly on 
the back of the socket (or the 110 block or patch panel).

Pulling solid-core Cat 5e cable through bends and tubes is easy.
