* Canvas size, make it a bit over twice as wide, and a bit taller
(allowing space for white borders)
* Open second image
* Select all, copy
* Go back to the first image and paste
* Drag it onto the new space at the right-hand side of the image
* Anchor down (there's a button on the Layers dialogue box)
* Optional: Rectangular select, and shift the first image round a
bit to get it where you want it
* To square up the edges:
o Rectangular select slightly over the edges of both images
o Cut
o Repeat for the bottom edge as well
