Hi Errol,

This response jumps about the issues a little and is also going out to the general list.

Hi Don

We are, however looking at using the school video conferencing facilities at school. Is this any good for you?

This is an education department/schools issue.

If people from the department and the schools want to empower this then I'm happy to take part.

When I looked at it last year it all seemed to hard for everyone else. I am sorry but I don't have energy to push the barrow up the hill.

I expected that Oxford school would email me with a list of the internal and external stake holders. This didn't happen.

If the schools/department could invert the hill, as to say, so that I can push the barrow down hill, then we can do something.

At present I'm still working on getting very basic internet access into the area we are working in, which as you know, did not have internet access last year.

The problem is being address (I hope) by the CCC, who are going to fund a Vodem connection for the project. I am still left with finding funding to pay for the actual Vodem (which at present I will be paying for personally, though that seems reasonable as I'm sure I will get a little use out of it for other things as well).

How do you see the programme continuing as I would like to suport it as much as I can?

This year I'm going to throw the program open to the public as well as the schools.

I am waiting to hear back from RHS regarding their kids.

The GAT teacher from RHS was all keen last year to involve other students from other schools as well. However I didn't hear back anything more about this.

I also intend to widen the scope of what we're doing this year to include community network building (a personal passion as many already know) which includes issues like networking computers together and Open Source Software in general,

Over the summer I have been able to collect together a lot more equipment so there will also be a much more hands on approach to hardware. However where I'm going to store all this equipment between lessons is another issue.

I would have said the project needed a bit more of a focused plan, however having reviewed my notes from last year I realised that I had quite a focused plan.

What I didn't have is resources, Internet access being the primary one, and an exercise plan for students to do in class. I'm working on both at present. ie; I'm waiting to hear confirmation from CCC that they will do their part and waiting on RHS to confirm details of when we kick off for 2007.

Cheers Don
