sure, that's easy...

<ELETIST MODE ON>

Would you like to drop over with it on Saturday when we're sorting out Davids machine?

</ELETIST MODE>

Other wise...

You can set up the xp boot loader to boot in to the linux disk.

Or you can set up grub or lilo - OSS boot loaders...

Using the XP one means you don't need to install anything.

edit C:\boot.ini to contain the line:
[
C:\bootsect.lin="Linux"
]

..and copy that C:\bootsect.lin file from /boot/grub/stage1

Ok hoping I can get help with this and hoping i have explained it well.
I have a pc with 2 hd one is quite large about 200gb running win xp the other is approx 50gb which is partioned with linux (sorry not sure of version) and the other partion carries personall stuff (music photos etc) which are in windows format.
Both HD have (MBR)
I had a dual boot loader to boot to either Linux or windows but I had to format my maching and re-load windows on the larger of the two HD, now I can not read the smaller of the two HD neither can I boot to Linux. I have set the 2nd HD as a slave drive. What I want to do is to access Linux again by installing a boot loader and hopefully at the same time have access to the other partion on the smaller HD. I then want to Backup my data and reformat the smaller of two HD (keeping it as the slave still so it can read by windows) delete the boot loader if there is one and just run Linux from a dvd. Hope that makes sense and hopefully there is some person/s who can help. PS please keep it simple :) ta Bernard
