Xboxes also make great media centres. They can act as a mythtv frontend,
or there are other options too, like XBMC[1]. They are pretty well a
celeron 700 or thereabouts with TV out, ethernet and USB (with a different
connector).

The 360 on the other hand is harder to hack AFAIK.

Good on Sony for making it possible to run linux on a PS3 relatively easily.

[1] XBMC is open source but runs on the Xbox native OS, which I think is a
stripped windows.
