Pardon my ignorance, I've done allot of chatting online using Java based applets. I've noticed that you can find rooms on almost any subject matter any kind of person. How do these applet based clients differ from IRC and what are advantages/disadvantages. And yes I've already Googled it and had a bit of a look, I was just curious as to other people's opinion.
